On the Job Training

The ICC Project will provide a unique training opportunity for individuals interested in working in the construction trades necessary for its successful completion.

The training and promotion to journeyperson status of members of minority groups, including women, is a primary objective of the ICC Project's on-the-job training program. The program will provide unique opportunities to minority and women trainees, especially in geographic areas where there are shortages in minority and women journeypersons. Design-build contractors will identify and enroll minority and women trainees by conducting systematic and direct recruitment through public and private sources likely to have information about persons who are available within certain geographic areas.

No employee shall be employed as a trainee in any classification in which the individual has successfully completed a training program leading to journeyperson status, or has been employed as a journeyperson.

On-the-job training, skills development, and job placement assistance are among the responsibilities of the Maryland Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation (DLLR). DLLR is a source for applicants for on-the-job training. DLLR may be reached as follows:
